Real Madrid is demanding the resignation of La Liga President Javier Tebas following his social media remarks comparing the club's management to Nazi propaganda techniques. On Friday, Tebas stated that “Real Madrid’s management directs an orchestra of mouthpieces and Real Madrid TV leads the singing,” in response to journalists who claimed La Liga was acting against the club's interests.

Tebas's statement escalated an ongoing feud between the club and La Liga's leadership. Last month, Real Madrid criticized Tebas after he dismissed their complaints about refereeing decisions as a ‘smokescreen’ for the team’s on-pitch shortcomings.

On the same day, Tebas accused Real Madrid TV of selectively covering officiating issues, stating, “Their score is always the same: select the plays that suit them, repeat the grievance, feed the suspicion and point fingers at the enemies.” He specifically mentioned that his comparison to the propaganda mechanisms used by Joseph Goebbels was meant to reference those techniques rather than any ideology or the Madridista fanbase.

In response, Real Madrid released a statement describing Tebas's comments as “intolerable and extraordinarily serious,” asserting that he used a comparison to Nazi propaganda to undermine the club and its management. They criticized his lack of neutrality and respect, stating that such remarks were incompatible with his responsibilities.

Javier Tebas, who has been La Liga president since 2013 and was re-elected unopposed until 2027, was called to resign from both his La Liga and Royal Spanish Football Federation positions.

The controversy unfolded just hours after La Liga announced that Real Madrid is one of six clubs on the league’s Executive Committee for the current season.
