Prior to this match, Prozorova had only won three tour-level matches, including victories in Palermo in 2023 and Memphis earlier this July. Prozorova had to show resilience throughout the match, having come back from a set and a break down in both her matches this week. In the first round, she overcame Sofia Costoulas after losing the first set 5-7 and being down 4-2, ultimately winning 7-6(2), 6-2.
