PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Brown men's soccer team fell to Harvard 2-1 in a conference matchup on Saturday night at Stevenson-Pincince Field. With this loss, Brown's record is now 4-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the Ivy League, while Harvard improves to 3-5-2 and 2-1-0 in Ivy play.

Brown took an early lead in the 23rd minute when Lorenzo Amaral delivered a precise pass across the box to Ethan Rabel, who scored his first collegiate goal.

After 45 minutes, both teams were tied in shot attempts with two each, while Brown maintained its narrow lead at halftime.

In the second half, Carlo Brown sought to extend the Bears' lead with a shot on goal in the 56th minute, but it was saved by Harvard's goalkeeper Jason Broome. Shortly after, in the 58th minute, a turnover allowed Harvard’s Adam Poliakov to score the equalizer.

Mathias Hille attempted to regain the lead for Brown in the 69th minute, but his shot was also saved by Broome. The game took a turn in the 75th minute when Poliakov scored again, putting Harvard ahead.

In the final moments, Amaral maneuvered through defenders but was tripped. Initially, Andreas Engle was shown a yellow card, but after a video review, the foul and card were rescinded.

Goalkeeper Max Pfaffman recorded four saves during the match.

Brown's next game is against Lehigh on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in Bethlehem, Pa. The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. from Ulrich Sports Complex.
