Head coach Shane Beamer provided an update during his teleconference on Sunday, stating, “Injury-wise, we’ll have an update for you on Wednesday. Quay’Sheed Scott went to the hospital last night. I think I told you guys that last night in the postgame press conference. He’s been relieved. We’ve just got to do some further testing with him going forward about his availability for Saturday, but hopefully that will be good news over the next couple of days.”
Additionally, South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart remains suspended, with no new information available. Defensive tackle Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy was a gametime decision but was able to play against Kentucky.
The next official player status update will be reported on Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Starting in 2024, the SEC introduced a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball, and baseball. School personnel are required to submit availability reports three days before each football game, with updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before kickoff. For basketball and baseball, reports are due the night before, along with a gameday update.
Penalties for inaccurate or late reports can range from $25,000 to $100,000 for football, and from $15,000 to $25,000 for basketball and baseball.
South Carolina is set to face Florida at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, on the SEC Network.
