The double roster created by Klopp will serve as an extensive audition ahead of the 2028 European Championship, featuring upcoming matches against the Netherlands, Greece, and Serbia. Players like Florian Wirtz and Kai Havertz are expected to play limited roles to accommodate new talent and manage their workloads.
Notable inclusions include forward Karim Adeyemi, returning to the squad after an 11-month hiatus, and Ajax goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen, who steps in as first choice following Manuel Neuers' international retirement.
