In the summer, Celtic renewed their interest in Ghedjemis, who scored 15 goals in the previous season, and submitted a formal offer. Competing interest from rivals such as Rangers and other clubs also emerged, but Frosinone's firm approach meant that Celtic opted to sign Haissem Hassan from Real Oviedo instead.
Frosinone’s sporting director, Regno Castagnini, explained the club's decision to retain Ghedjemis was influenced by a change in ownership that eased financial pressures. He noted that while Ghedjemis expressed a desire to leave, the club decided to keep him, stating, "When the Clara Vista fund came in, it was decided that Ghedjemis would stay with us since we no longer needed to sell players."
Currently, the situation has shifted as Ghedjemis may extend his contract with Frosinone. Castagnini indicated, "We're working on his new contract, so we're satisfied. We're doing things properly and calmly."
Despite the interest from Celtic, it appears that even if a deal with Frosinone had been possible, Ghedjemis was likely drawn to opportunities from clubs like AS Monaco and Marseille, making a move to Parkhead less appealing.
