In the lead-up to the event, up to 1,000 local clubs will host AO 1 Point Slam competitions, allowing players to qualify for the AO 1 Point Slam State Championships held nationwide. Two winners from each state and territory will advance to compete during AO Opening Week and will enjoy a unique player experience.
Tom Larner, Chief Tennis Officer, emphasized the event's distinctiveness in the sports world, as it allows grassroots players to compete alongside elite athletes, fostering excitement within the Australian Open atmosphere. The champion will receive the AO 1 Point Slam trophy, made of Australian silver and crafted by ABC Bullion, the event's Official Trophy and Precious Metals Partner.
