The district is conducting a comprehensive review of the incident. A teacher first reported rumors of hazing on September 16, prompting the district to notify law enforcement and launch its own investigation. Initially, law enforcement found no grounds for criminal charges, and disciplinary actions were taken against the students involved.

ABC 6 reviewed video footage of the hazing, which depicted players shoving food into the mouths of teammates while they were restrained with zip ties and wrapped in plastic wrap. Recently surfaced information has led to a renewed internal review by school officials.

Following the suspension of coaches, the boys' junior varsity squad took over the girls' team for their recent game against Bishop Watterson, which ended in a 5-0 defeat for Olentangy. This loss marked the team's fourth consecutive defeat. A school spokesperson reported that officials met with parents to discuss team management and support for the remainder of the season. Olentangy Orange is scheduled to play Olentangy Liberty on Tuesday to conclude the regular season.
