
Filip Planinsek, a former standout and national champion from the University of Alabama, will represent Slovenia in the Davis Cup. The tournament is set to take place over two days, starting Saturday, September 18, in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where Planinsek and the national team will face Israel in the first round of qualifying for World Group II. This event marks the fourth time Planinsek has represented Slovenia, and he heads into the competition with three singles victories in the Davis Cup, the latest of which was against Türkiye earlier this year. Currently, Planinsek is ranked No. 483 on the Association of Tennis Professionals' live ranking singles list after spending 14 months on tour following his graduation from the University of Alabama in 2025.
