Green Bay enters the matchup unbeaten at 8-0-2 overall and holds a perfect 3-0 record in Horizon League play. The Phoenix are on a five-game winning streak that began on August 30, having outscored opponents 14-2 and shut out rivals in eight of their matches this season.
This game will mark the 36th meeting between Wright State and Green Bay, a series the Raiders lead with a record of 21-8-6. Last season, Wright State faced Green Bay twice, losing 2-1 during the regular season and 3-1 in the Horizon League Championship quarterfinals.
In their last match, the Raiders suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Northern Illinois after a late goal. The two teams were scoreless at halftime, with Wright State managing to limit Northern Illinois despite an 8-3 deficit in shots. Goalkeeper Leigha Lauer made two key saves in the first half to keep the score level.
The second half saw increased pressure from Northern Illinois, which resulted in 10 more shots, with Lauer making six additional saves. The Raiders sought to equalize through attempts from Alyssa Peh and Taliah Pellizzari, but neither could find the net. The decisive goal came in the 87th minute from Sarah Roy, with assists from Mckenna Campbell-Turkalj and Monica Correa.
Lauer noted a total of eight saves during the match, with Wright State trailing in shots (18-5) and shots on goal (9-0), although they managed a slight edge in corner kicks at 4-3.
Wright State is bolstered by two returning All-League performers. Caitlin Burger, who achieved All-League First Team honors in 2025, returns to midfield after leading the team with 12 points and five goals, alongside four assists. Kaitlyn Eyink also returns after earning All-League Third Team recognition, having played 19 games in defense.
Last season, Wright State concluded with a 7-7-5 record, including a 4-1-5 mark in Horizon League play, reaching the Horizon League Championship Quarterfinals before losing to Green Bay.
The Raiders have welcomed eight newcomers this season, including seven freshmen, to a roster that features a total of 26 players consisting of seven freshmen, six sophomores, three juniors, and ten seniors.
Additionally, the roster boasts a strong local presence, with 21 players hailing from Ohio, including nine from the Dayton metro area.
