In the intrasquad scrimmage, Team White defeated Team Blue 42-30, with Lauren Whittaker leading the scoring with 12 points and five rebounds. Inês Bettencourt contributed 10 points on a perfect 4-for-4 shooting performance, while Teryn Gardner added nine points, displaying a 3-for-6 shooting accuracy from beyond the arc. Team Blue's senior guard Zeryhia Aokuso was the top scorer with nine points and two assists, followed by Taylor Smith with seven points, and McKynnlie Dalan, who had five points and four rebounds. Both Smith and Dalan played the entire 20 minutes of the scrimmage.

The squad’s newcomers made their presence known; Rider transfer Emmy Roach scored six points with three rebounds, Denver transfer Jocelyn Medina added five points and two boards, and freshman Abby Lusk recorded four points on 2-for-3 shooting.

After the scrimmage, head coach Lisa Fortier emphasized the importance of continuity within the team, stating, "I think we're really good. I think we have a lot of really good players. We have players who can score at all positions. With the 10 players back, there's no learning curve necessarily on learning us with those guys. And so that makes a big difference."

Gardner, who placed second to Allie Turner in the 3-point contest, reflected on the team's aim to build on last season's achievements, saying, "We ended on a great note last year, made it to the tournament. We want to keep building that camaraderie, and that will show on the court."

Gonzaga will host Westmont College in an exhibition game on October 27 before starting the regular season at home against North Dakota State on November 2.
