This move reinforces Sprite’s commitment to basketball, having returned as the NBA's Official Global Soft Drink earlier this year. The brand has a longstanding history with the NBA, first partnering in 1986, and has consistently engaged with basketball culture through impactful campaigns and partnerships.
Oana Vlad, Global Brand Vice President of Sprite, stated, "Sprite has a history of championing the athletes, creators, and communities that shape basketball culture. 'Never Stop Refreshing the Game' is about refreshing the game for fans through refreshing experiences and stories that showcase the power of basketball culture. Nikola and Ant embody this spirit perfectly."
Jokić and Edwards, known for their unique styles and dedication to the game, will be featured in Sprite's global campaign, which will roll out from now through 2027 across various regions, including North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Eurasia & the Middle East, and India & Southwest Asia.
Jokić, recently ranked the top player for the 2026–27 NBA season by ESPN for the third year in a row, is recognized for his skill and international appeal. Edwards, an Olympic gold medalist and four-time NBA All-Star, is celebrated for his athleticism and presence as a leading figure for the next generation of players.
Jokić remarked, “Basketball brings people around the world together. Sprite has been part of the story for decades, and I’m excited to partner with them to continue bringing the game to the next generation.” Edwards expressed enthusiasm for the new campaign, highlighting Sprite's historic contributions to basketball culture.
The campaign includes limited-edition cans featuring Jokić and Edwards, which come with QR codes linking to various prizes, such as VIP tickets and exclusive gear. Sprite also plans to enhance local basketball culture through initiatives like restoring courts with murals and delivering interactive experiences.
As Sprite expands its presence in the NBA Global Games, it aims to engage fans directly at events like the NBA Mexico City Game in 2026 and the NBA Manchester and Paris Games in early 2027.
