This draw keeps the Owls' playoff hopes alive, as they prepare for their final two conference games against UAB and FIU, both of whom currently have six points—two points ahead of Temple.

The scoring opened with Temple's Taimoor Hussain netting a goal in the 13th minute. South Florida quickly answered, with Serigne Diallo equalizing in the 16th minute, followed by Max Kiefer giving the Bulls the lead in the 20th. Diallo scored again in the 29th minute, showcasing his skills with a bicycle kick for his second goal of the match. Temple's Carlos Rojas responded two minutes later with a bicycle kick of his own, ending the first half with South Florida leading 3-2. Temple recorded five corners, while South Florida had three.

In the second half, Temple capitalized on defensive weaknesses from South Florida. The Owls registered six shots, with Aaron Sullivan scoring the game-tying goal in the 79th minute, a header that leveled the score at 3-3. This marked the first time Temple had scored three goals in a game since their 3-2 victory over Villanova on August 25, 2024. In the closing minutes, Rojas and Quint Van Roij both had opportunities to win the game, but their shots missed the target, and the match concluded in a tie.

Gavin Atkinson made five saves during the match.

Next, Temple will face UAB on Friday, October 23, at 8 p.m. in Birmingham, Ala. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
