NBA Draft Documentary Series to Feature Wolverines Johnson and Mara

The documentary will profile six first-round draft picks, offering an inside look at the days leading up to the draft. This includes capturing the players' experiences, their families, and the moments when their NBA ambitions culminate. The first episode is slated for release on Wade's YouTube channel on September 21 and will feature Johnson, who was selected No. 9 overall by the Dallas Mavericks, marking him as the first of Michigan's three lottery picks. He will be reunited with his college coach, Dusty May.

Mara was chosen No. 12 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, just after Yaxel Lendeborg went to the Golden State Warriors. Both players were instrumental in leading the Wolverines to their second national championship title in program history.

Episodes will be released weekly, and Johnson's episode will be directed by Jess Speight, a former Michigan defensive lineman. The other players featured in the series include Iowa’s Bennett Stirtz, Texas Tech’s Christian Anderson Jr., St. John’s Zuby Ejiofor, and Baylor’s Cameron Carr.
