Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has responded to concerns regarding Estevao's limited playing time, amid transfer rumors linking the Brazilian prospect to a move next year. Estevao, regarded as a key talent for Chelsea, has seen minimal action under Alonso, starting only twice in the Carabao Cup and playing just 23 minutes in the Premier League so far.

His solitary appearance of three minutes during Chelsea's 3-0 loss to Brentford spurred reports of discontent, fueling speculation that Barcelona might be watching the situation closely for a potential acquisition in 2027.
Despite these concerns, Chelsea maintains that Estevao is an invaluable player and has no plans to allow him to leave, whether in January or next summer. Estevao's Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has reportedly risen to €110.9 million, but he appears calm about the current circumstances.
While on international duty two weeks ago, Estevao stated, "I think every coach has their own way of playing. Of course, we work every day, I give my best every day, and that's what I do. I try to seize every opportunity I have, I try to control everything I can, and I leave it in God's hands, and I trust myself a lot too."
Alonso also addressed the rumors, noting that it takes time for young players to adjust to regular game time. He emphasized that Estevao will have opportunities to showcase his talent soon, saying, "It's still early, just a few games since we started, and Este is feeling much better from the injury." He referenced Estevao's recent hamstring injury that truncated his previous season and reiterated the different contexts of playing for Brazil versus the Premier League.
"We know the demand of the Premier League and we know Este, how important he can be in some games. He will have his moments and more minutes," Alonso added.
