Throughout the years, Indian Railways has been home to some of the finest players in the nation. Geethu Anna Jose, a celebrated player during the peak of the team’s success, and Anitha Pauldurai, the current coach, have played pivotal roles in strengthening the team's status. Their contributions have positioned Indian Railways not just as a local champion but also as a vital development pathway for elite women's basketball in India.

Entering WBL Asia presents a new challenge as Indian Railways will face top clubs and champions from across the continent, allowing them to test their established domestic success on a larger stage.

The new generation of players will carry this responsibility, led by Pushpa Senthil Kumar, a 178 cm center who has emerged as one of India's top talents, averaging 14.2 points and 6.6 rebounds at the FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2025 Division B. She also topped the team’s efficiency with a score of 17.2.

Vaishnavi Yadav has also proven to be a significant offensive asset, contributing 15 points in the decisive 95-65 victory over Karnataka to clinch the 2026 Senior National title. Harshitha Kelttira Bopaiah made her mark during the final, scoring 23 points in a 75-66 win over Kerala, further solidifying the team’s dominance.

As the champions prepare to take on this new challenge, they face the exciting opportunity to extend their established legacy beyond the national borders, with the support of a home crowd in Bengaluru.
