The Spartans will kick off their season with an exhibition game on Friday, October 2, against the University of Incarnate Word, leading into the annual Izzone Campout. They will play three exhibition games in total, including one against Big East member UConn on Tuesday, October 20, and another on Sunday, October 25, at Marquette.
The regular season is set to begin on Monday, November 2, with the Spartans hosting Quinnipiac, the predicted favorite to win the Metro Conference.
Big Ten Conference play is scheduled to start on Wednesday, December 2, with Michigan State hosting Minnesota. The Spartans' first conference road game will take place on Wednesday, December 9, at Maryland.
In addition to Minnesota, the Breslin Center will welcome other Big Ten teams such as Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, Washington, and Wisconsin. MSU will also travel for games against Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Northwestern, Ohio State, UCLA, and USC.
Last season, Michigan State concluded with a 27-8 overall record, including a 15-5 record in the Big Ten. The team secured a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Sweet 16 for the 17th time under Head Coach Tom Izzo.
