Scott began presenting the Women’s Champions League coverage for Disney+ in 2025, following the company’s acquisition of the broadcasting rights. However, this season's coverage faced criticism due to technical issues, including an unexpected advertisement break that interrupted the second half of Arsenal's 1-0 victory over HB Køge.

Disney+ expressed gratitude towards Scott, stating, "We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Alex Scott for her contribution to our coverage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League on Disney+. Her passion for the women’s game and the competition shone through throughout her time with us, and we are grateful for all she contributed. We wish her every success."

Scott, who previously played for England and Arsenal, has a varied career that includes hosting major sports shows for the BBC, such as the coverage of the 2020 Olympics. After five seasons on BBC’s Football Focus, which ended this year, she launched One More Word through her own production company, First Cap Productions, in response to the cancellation of the BBC’s weekly WSL highlights show.

In a recent interview with the Observer, Scott discussed the challenges in promoting women’s football, stating, "I feel like there’s always an excuse about women’s football shows not working because of the viewership or needing to save money. Whereas I think if they are done right, they can work, if things are given a fresh idea or a fresh format, they can work."

Regarding some criticisms of Disney's coverage, Scott acknowledged, "Ultimately, do I agree with all the decisions that were made? Absolutely not. Did I try and advise? Yes, but I can only do so much."

Despite her departure, sources have indicated that Scott maintains a positive relationship with Disney, which has an exclusive five-year agreement to broadcast the Women’s Champions League across Europe beginning in 2025. The presenting team will continue to feature Shebahn Aherne, Nedum Onuoha, and Lianne Sanderson, along with commentators Vicki Sparks and Jacqui Oatley. The competition is set to resume on October 28.
