ATHENS, Ga. – Ole Miss Soccer faced Georgia on Friday night at the Turner Soccer Complex, losing 1-0 after more than 73 minutes of scoreless play.

Georgia (5-3-5, 2-1-3 SEC) applied significant pressure in the first half, but Rebel goalkeeper Anna Claire Jacobi made four crucial saves to keep the Bulldogs scoreless. Her first save came in the 10th minute, followed by stops in the 28th, 43rd, and 44th minutes.

In the middle of the half, Ole Miss (7-7-0, 0-6-0 SEC) had two promising chances. Alena Watts sent a shot wide in the 15th minute, and Ava Ghoreishi forced a save from Georgia goalkeeper Jordan Brown shortly after.

The Rebels' last attempt of the half came from Sarah Granno in the 44th minute, but her shot also went wide, leaving the teams tied at halftime.

In the second half, Ghoreishi created an early opportunity, but her shot in the 56th minute was blocked. Jacobi continued to shine, saving attempts from Ayda Pannell and Mya Townes as the match remained scoreless.

Georgia finally broke through at the 73:19 mark when Hailey Gordon scored an unassisted goal, marking her first of the season. The Bulldogs then stifled Ole Miss's offense, preventing any further shots in the final 16 minutes to secure the victory.

In terms of statistics, Georgia dominated with a 20-4 advantage in total shots and a 7-1 edge in shots on target. The Bulldogs also earned seven corner kicks compared to Ole Miss’s two. Ghoreishi led the Rebels with two shots, with one on target.

Jacobi played the full match, finishing with six saves and totaling 14 saves over the last two games. Allison Kolski also completed the match, bringing her season total to 1,260 minutes.

Ole Miss will return home to face Missouri on Thursday at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
