Duncan Chan, a 21-year-old senior at TCU, will represent Canada in a Davis Cup tie against France from Friday to Saturday in Quebec City. The winning nation will advance to the Davis Cup Final 8 in November, set to take place in Bologna, Italy.

This marks Chan's first nomination to Team Canada, where he will play alongside world No. 5 Félix Auger-Aliassime, Liam Draxl, and Keegan Rice. The competition format consists of best-of-five matches, including four singles and one doubles, with each match played in a best-of-three sets format.
Chan gained recognition from Tennis Canada in August when he qualified for the Montreal Masters 1000 main singles draw, securing a victory against No. 91 Hugo Gaston. In doubles, he impressed by reaching the quarter-finals after winning an opening match against US Open champion Alexander Zverev.
Hailing from Markham, Ontario, Chan is expected to participate in the doubles match. He won five ATP-level matches over a two-week period in August and recently reached the finals of the Quebec City Challenger.
As one of the top returning players in college tennis, Chan holds the preseason ITA No. 3 singles ranking and has a universal tennis rating of 14.10, the ninth-highest among active collegians. He was named the 2026 Big 12 Player of the Year and earned All-American honors in both singles and doubles.
In addition to Chan, Cam Norrie, a three-time TCU All-American, will lead Great Britain in a Davis Cup qualifier against Ecuador on Saturday and Sunday. Norrie, who played for TCU from 2014-17, is competing in his 10th Davis Cup tie and boasts a 10-8 all-time record in the event.
