Kvitova and Kerber to Compete in Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters

Among the participants are three-time Grand Slam champion Angelique Kerber, last year's winner, and former World No. 4 Dominika Cibulkova, who will return in 2026. Belgian player Yanina Wickmayer will make her debut in this event.

Joining the lineup are two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova and former No. 12 Tatiana Golovin, both making their first appearances at this tournament. They are joined by Agnieszka Radwanska, Magdalena Rybarikova, and Monica Puig, who have all previously competed.

The Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters, established in 2022 when Kim Clijsters defeated Martina Hingis in the final, has steadily gained popularity with strong support from the government, sponsors, and fans. Daniela Hantuchova, a former World No. 5 and now an event ambassador, noted that the event has become a sought-after experience for both fans and players.

Kvitova is participating just seven months after giving birth to twins, while Puig recently completed the Berlin Marathon. Hantuchova emphasized that this year's tournament will showcase the ongoing talent and competitiveness of WTA athletes post-retirement.

Alongside the tournament, a series of activities aimed at empowering women and girls will also take place. A donation will be made to the WTA Foundation to support UNICEF’s Child Nutrition Program, providing prenatal vitamins to 6,000 women during pregnancy.

Ann Austin, executive director of the WTA Foundation, highlighted the significance of featuring eight players who are mothers, reflecting their resilience and strength. The Luxembourg event previously hosted a WTA 250 stop for 25 years, organized by International Women’s Tennis Promotion (IWTP).

Kvitova last competed in Luxembourg a decade ago, finishing as runner-up in the 2016 final. The total prize money for this year's event is €110,000, with the champion receiving €50,000.
