All players from the Top 10 of the PIF WTA Rankings will participate in the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open next month. Newly crowned World No. 1 Elena Rybakina, the US Open champion, will headline the event alongside Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Mirra Andreeva, Linda Noskova, Elina Svitolina, Karolina Muchova, Iga Swiatek, and Marta Kostyuk.

The remaining players in the Top 25 will also compete, except for Victoria Mboko, who is recovering from a left knee injury sustained this summer.
The Wuhan Open, the second consecutive 1000-level tournament on the WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz calendar, will feature a 56-player singles draw. This includes 43 direct entrants, eight qualifiers, four wild cards, and one special exemption.
The final four direct entrants are Daria Snigur, Yuliia Starodubtseva, Cristina Bucsa, and Karolina Pliskova. The first four main-draw alternates are Lilli Tagger, Anhelina Kalinina, Mayar Sherif, and Tamara Korpatsch.
Coco Gauff, the defending champion, won last year’s tournament without losing a set, defeating seventh-seeded Jasmine Paolini in the semifinals and sixth-seeded Pegula in the final. Gauff previously reached the semifinals in 2022, losing to Sabalenka, and enters this year's event with an 8-1 career record in Wuhan.
Sabalenka has a strong history in Wuhan, holding three titles. She won consecutive championships in 2018 and 2019 and returned to win the tournament again in 2024 after a four-year hiatus. She boasts a 20-1 all-time record at the event, with her only loss occurring against Pegula in last year’s semifinals.
The champion in Wuhan will receive 1,000 ranking points and a prize of $665,000. First-round matches are scheduled to start on Monday, October 12, and the tournament will conclude on Sunday, October 18. The draw will be unveiled on Saturday, October 10.
