In response to a pro-Real Madrid article on social media, Tebas criticized the narrative of a conspiracy against the club, stating, "Here they go again, the mouthpieces and the regime’s television, building the same old narrative – the permanent conspiracy." Tebas has frequently clashed with Real Madrid and its president, Florentino Pérez.
He further challenged assertions that referees are damaging the club's interests by questioning whether officiating should prioritize revenue or viewership. "What a way to understand equality in the competition," he remarked.
While acknowledging Real Madrid's importance to La Liga, Tebas objected to claims that the league lacks value without them, expressing that such statements demonstrate a lack of respect for other clubs and their fans. He noted, "The competition belongs to no one."
Real Madrid is currently struggling, lying six points behind early leaders Barcelona. Tebas stated, "Claiming that referees are directed against Real Madrid is living in another galaxy. That narrative serves as an excuse to cover up other shortcomings that are plain to see in these first matches of the season. It’s more comfortable to point to a conspiracy than to explain what’s happening on the pitch."
