Joining them will be several Top 50 players, including Leylah Fernandez, Ann Li, Maria Sakkari, Cristina Bucsa, Talia Gibson, Wang Xinyu, Liudmila Samsonova, Kimberly Birrell, Yuliia Starodubtseva, Daria Snigur, Oleksandra Oliynykova, and Anhelina Kalinina.

The list of direct entries also includes Mayar Sherif, Zheng Qinwen, Katie Boulter, Sonay Kartal, Zeynep Sonmez, Paula Badosa, and Anna Bondar. First-round alternates are Tereza Valentova, Camila Osorio, Viktorija Golubic, Maria Timofeeva, and Alina Korneeva.

The 32-player singles draw will consist of 23 direct entrants, along with four qualifiers, four wild cards, and one special exempt position. The top four seeds will receive byes into the second round. The draw is set to be announced on Saturday, Oct. 31.

Victoria Mboko, the defending champion who hasn't competed since June, won the title last year by defeating Bucsa in a three-set final. Shnaider was the champion in 2022 and Fernandez claimed victory in 2023, with Fernandez reaching the semifinals in Hong Kong in the past two years.

The tournament is played on outdoor hard courts at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium and has a history dating back to 1980. After a 32-year break, with the exception of one edition in 1993, the tournament made its return to the WTA Tour in 2014.

First-round matches are set to begin on Monday, Nov. 2, and will continue until the finals of both singles and doubles on Sunday, Nov. 8. Concurrently, the WTA 250 Chennai Open will also take place, while the WTA Finals at Indian Wells will begin on Nov. 8.
