This marks a first for the Australian Open, allowing on-demand delivery in a designated fan viewing space, thereby providing spectators with greater convenience. The agreement also names DoorDash the presenting partner of AO on the GO, the competition's grab-and-go food and beverage service. Branding will be featured across various fan touchpoints, including vending machines and carts, as well as a focus on the Golden Hour Bar.
DoorDash will gain additional exposure through virtual signage on the court, LED gates, concourse screens, and digital wall animations, alongside promotional offers for fans at home to broaden the partnership's reach beyond Melbourne Park.
Cedric Cornelis, Chief Commercial Officer of Tennis Australia, noted that food and drink have become essential elements of the Australian Open experience, emphasizing that the delivery service is intended to provide attendees with more choice and convenience. Simon Rossi, Vice President of DoorDash APAC, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the combination of world-class tennis and Melbourne's culinary scene.
The partnership aligns with Tennis Australia's plans to enhance the spectator experience at the upcoming Australian Open, scheduled from January 11 to January 31, 2027, which will include venue upgrades such as an expanded Grand Slam Oval. The financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.
