Linda Noskova Leads Czechia to Semifinals in Billie Jean King Cup Finals

Noskova, ranked sixth, clinched her match against Katie Boulter with a decisive ace on her first match point, winning 6-2, 7-6 (3). She recorded a total of 15 aces, significantly outperforming Boulter, who had four.

Earlier in the day, Bouzkova triumphed over Sonay Kartal, winning in a closely contested match with scores of 7-6 (2), 4-6, 6-4. Although Karolina Muchova, defeated by Noskova in the Wimbledon final, was scheduled to compete in a doubles match with Katerina Siniakova, it was ultimately not necessary as Czechia secured their victory.

Czechia, previously known as the Czech Republic, has won 11 titles in the competition historically known as the Fed Cup, placing them second all-time. In contrast, the United States holds the record with 18 titles but did not qualify for this year's finals.

In the semifinals, Czechia will face either Spain or Kazakhstan, who are set to compete on Wednesday. The other quarterfinal matches include two-time defending champions Italy against China and Ukraine facing Belgium.

In a related note, the Davis Cup Final 8 draw saw South Korea matched against three-time defending champion Italy. Spain, the 2025 runner-up, will face Austria, while Czechia, which eliminated the U.S. in the qualifying round, is set to challenge 2022 champion Canada. Alexander Zverev’s Germany will take on Britain. The Final 8 is scheduled for Bologna, Italy, from November 24 to 29.
