The French Open champion will compete for the title on Sunday against either Elise Mertens or local favorite Zheng Qinwen. Andreeva, currently ranked No. 5, is expected to rise two positions in next week’s rankings. Her 50 victories this season tie her with Jessica Pegula for the most wins on the tour, according to the WTA.
In their previous encounter, Andreeva had also defeated Bartunkova, who is ranked No. 34, in the third round of the U.S. Open.
