SMU Men's Soccer Achieves No. 1 Ranking in United Soccer Coaches Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (United Soccer Coaches/SMU) – SMU Men's Soccer has earned the top spot in the United Soccer Coaches poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

This marks the first occasion the Mustangs have been ranked No. 1 since November 7, 2006. Currently, the team holds an impressive 8-0-1 overall record and remains the only undefeated team within the Atlantic Coast Conference, with a conference record of 3-0-0.

The Mustangs lead the ACC in several categories, including total goals scored (26), goals against average (.33), and clean sheets (6). Notably, SMU is also ranked first in the nation for goals against average, and goalkeeper Jonathan Evans is tied for first in Division I with six clean sheets.

The top-ranked Mustangs are set to travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Wake Forest in their fourth ACC match of the season on Friday.
