Alexander Zverev Leads Team Europe to Laver Cup Victory in London

Alexander Zverev secured a decisive win for Team Europe in the Laver Cup held in London, helping to ease Carlos Alcaraz's workload for the event. Alcaraz had praised Zverev following his recent successes at the French Open and US Open, but Zverev initially struggled, losing in doubles on Friday and facing match points against Alex De Minaur on Saturday.

Despite a challenging start, Alcaraz regained momentum as day two concluded. Zverev then partnered with Casper Ruud to win the doubles match, bringing Team Europe closer to clinching the title. Flavio Cobolli and Jakub Mensik contributed further by defeating the key Team World pair of Taylor Fritz and De Minaur in their doubles match, setting the stage for Zverev to end Europe's run of three defeats in four years.

Zverev faced Laver Cup debutant Learner Tien and, despite some struggles, managed to secure a 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory, ensuring Team Europe's success with a final score of 13-5 in front of tournament co-founder Roger Federer.
