The team faced early setbacks due to injuries that have disrupted their frontcourt plans. Center Mady Sissoko was injured during preseason, leading to the suspension of his contract, while DaQuan Jeffries sustained a hand injury in the season opener, further limiting the team's options.

In a recent interview with Orta Cizgi, Ozkan Arseven, Besiktas's branch manager, stated that the club aims to secure two new signings within the next week to ten days. He noted, "We had a good roster at the start of the season," referring to the initial lineup.

Arseven emphasized the need for impactful players who can contribute immediately under coach Dusan Alimpijevic, clarifying that they are not in search of players simply to fill bench roles. "Transfers will happen," he affirmed. "The players we bring here need to be above the level of our current squad structure, someone who will add value to the team and have a direct impact."

He also provided an update on Sissoko's condition, indicating that if the 25-year-old receives medical clearance, the club will reinstate his contract. Otherwise, they will seek a temporary replacement as Sissoko continues his recovery. "If we receive good news about him, he will return to the team," Arseven added.

Besiktas's next EuroLeague matchup is against Baskonia at the Fernando Buesa Arena on Friday.
