Olivia Miles Sets New WNBA Rookie Points Record, Surpassing Caitlin Clark

Olivia Miles of the Minnesota Lynx broke the WNBA record for points by a rookie in a season during a game against the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.

Entering the matchup tied with Caitlin Clark at 769 points, Miles took the lead with a free throw just 29 seconds into the second quarter.

The Lynx rookie was averaging 19.7 points, 6.0 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game, contributing to her team's position as the best in the league this season.

Selected second overall in the draft after her time at Notre Dame and TCU, Miles had a slow start in the game, failing to score in the first quarter before finding her rhythm in the second.

Both Miles and Clark reached their respective totals in 40 games.
