Miami and Ub Secure Quarter-Final Spots on Day 1 of FIBA 3x3 World Tour in Deqing

DEQING (China) – Miami (USA) and Ub (SRB) both marked their presence on Day 1 of the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Deqing 2026, finishing their games unbeaten and advancing to the Quarter-Finals. Teams Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) and Fuengirola (ESP) also secured perfect records in their pools, while Fuengirola pulled off a nail-biting win against Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL).

Miami continued their strong performance, winning both matches in Pool B with scores of 21-18 over Taipei WanBao (TPE) and 21-19 against Toulouse (FRA). In the first game, Riley Battin led Miami with nine points. Miami started strong but faced a late challenge from Taipei, which they overcame to secure the victory. The match against Toulouse was similarly intense, with Miami falling behind at times but ultimately scoring the final three points to clinch the win. They will next face Antwerp (BEL) in the Quarter-Finals.

Ub showcased their skill with two contrasting victories. In their first match, Strahinja Stojacic scored seven points as Ub defeated host team DeQing (CHN) 22-17. The game was tied in the middle, but Ub pulled ahead in the final moments. Their second match against Vienna (AUT) saw Nemanja Barać score nine points, leading Ub to a decisive 21-13 victory. Ub will meet Toronto (CAN) next.

Fuengirola had a challenging path, initially winning a qualifying game against Bochum SPARKASSE (GER) 21-11. They narrowly edged Utrecht (NED) 18-17 to qualify for the Main Draw and then surprised Antwerp with a 14-11 win. The highlight of their day was a dramatic comeback against Ulaanbaatar, where Isaac Mayo scored the winning basket in a tight 20-19 finish. Fuengirola will play Toulouse in the Quarter-Finals.

Amsterdam RABOBANK concluded a successful Day 1, despite an early scare against Shibuya (JPN). After trailing, Worthy de Jong led a comeback, finishing the game with a 20-17 win. Amsterdam then faced Toronto and emerged victorious 16-14, ensuring their spot in the Quarter-Finals against Vienna.

Toronto avoided elimination with a thrilling 20-19 victory over Shibuya, thanks to Thibaut Vervoort’s 11 points, which secured them second place in Pool C.

The Shootout Contest also advanced four finalists: Jonas Foerts of Antwerp, Susumu Miyasaka of Shibuya, Westher Molteni of Toronto, and Toni Blazan of Vienna. The Quarter-Finals are set for Sunday, September 27, featuring Ub against Toronto, Fuengirola against Toulouse, Miami against Antwerp, and Amsterdam RABOBANK against Vienna.
