This season, Juventus, Milan, and Como have collectively given fewer minutes to Italian players in Serie A than Inter has accounted for by itself. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, utilizing Transfermarkt data, the three clubs have combined for 1,361 minutes played by eligible Italian players after five rounds. This total is 48 minutes less than Inter, which has effectively utilized just four Italians: Nicolò Barella, Alessandro Bastoni, Federico Dimarco, and Pio Esposito have been consistent contributors.
Juventus ranks 16th with 754 minutes, with the majority (720) attributed to Guglielmo Vicario and Manuel Locatelli, who is now sidelined for months following knee surgery. Milan is in 17th place with 383 minutes, predominantly from Alphadjo Cisse, while Como has contributed 224 minutes, over half of which come from Moise Kean since his transfer from Fiorentina.
At the opposite end, Frosinone, managed by Massimiliano Alvini, leads Serie A with 3,459 minutes allocated to 12 Italian players, more than double the combined total of the bottom five teams. Other clubs that have given significant playing time to Italians include Monza (2,813) and Atalanta (2,288), rounding out the top three, with Cagliari and Lazio not far behind. Venezia, the third promoted side, sits at the bottom of the table with a mere 20 minutes, all attributed to Matteo Dagasso.
A total of 122 players eligible for the Italian national team have appeared so far this season, with twelve having played every minute. Half of these players are goalkeepers: Marco Carnesecchi, Elia Caprile, Lorenzo Palmisani, Vicario, Wladimiro Falcone, and Edoardo Corvi. Parma is notable for having three players who have appeared in every match: Corvi, Enrico Delprato, and Emanuele Valeri. Napoli's Giovanni Di Lorenzo has also played every minute despite losing his starting position on the national team to Michael Kayode.
