The investigation by Wooster police began on March 2, following a complaint from the juvenile victim, who reported the incidents involving her club soccer coach. According to police reports, the alleged assaults began when the victim was 16 years old and occurred approximately nine times between October 2024 and April 2025.
Boggs served as the girls’ soccer coach at Northwestern Local Schools for three seasons, from 2023 to 2025. He resigned from his position on February 25, with his last interaction with the team recorded in November 2025. Northwestern Local Schools Superintendent Julie McCumber stated in a release that the allegations against Boggs were linked to incidents outside of his official role and were not connected to his employment with the district.
