The 3-on-3 women’s basketball league Unrivaled will make a stop in Minneapolis on January 24, 2027, after two years of anticipation from fans in Minnesota. The league announced this latest tour destination through its social media channels, which have revealed various locations over recent weeks.

Tickets for the event will be available to Unrivaled newsletter subscribers starting Thursday at 3 p.m., with general sales opening at 4 p.m. Unrivaled was co-founded in 2023 by Minnesota Lynx player Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart of the New York Liberty. The inaugural season kicked off with six teams in 2025 and expanded to eight teams in its second year in 2026.
At a recent Lynx practice, Collier expressed her excitement, noting that bringing the league to Minnesota is especially meaningful given the state's strong basketball culture and the existing fan support. "It's so exciting... to bring it to a city that is so established like Minnesota, and of course we play here," she said.
Among the 48-player roster for the 2027 season, notable players include Olivia Miles, who will make her rookie debut, and Kayla McBride, returning after a year away. Courtney Williams is back for her third season, and Collier returns after missing last year due to injuries. Paige Bueckers from Hopkins, Minnesota, is also set to participate in her second season.
Minnesota Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve, who is not coaching for Unrivaled, expressed her enthusiasm for the league's visit, stating that Minneapolis is an excellent market for women's sports. "I think anytime we can showcase our market, we're a tremendous market for women's sports as a whole," she said.
Minneapolis will join other cities like Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Detroit as part of Unrivaled's 2027 tour, aligning with markets that have shown strong interest in women's basketball. The WNBA is also set to expand, introducing franchises in Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030.
