Zheng Qinwen's impressive autumn continues with a striking photo spread in Vogue China, following her historic win at the China Open in Beijing. This victory marked Zheng as the first Chinese woman to claim the China Open title, achieving her first career WTA 1000 title and her first WTA Tour Driven by Mercedes-Benz title since 2024. As a wild card entrant, she fought through four three-set matches before defeating Elina Svitolina, Elise Mertens, and Mirra Andreeva in the final.

"Honestly after winning this title, I felt like finally I achieve it, finally I once again become the one who [is] making new history," Zheng said after her victory over Andreeva. "I always want to kind of beat myself, because everyone is asking me how great you achieve in 2024. I always say that the best is [to] come in the future."
During her seven matches, Zheng spent over 15 hours on the court, the most of any player at any tournament this year and the highest since Opta began tracking total court time in 2023.
Ranked No. 54 at the time of the tournament, she became the lowest-ranked player to win the China Open. Following her victory, Zheng moved up 31 places in the PIF WTA Rankings to No. 23.
This latest Vogue appearance adds to her ongoing relationship with the iconic magazine. In 2024, shortly after winning gold in Paris, Zheng became the first athlete to feature on the cover of Vogue China and did so again last year. In her latest spread, she was seen using pumpkins as dumbbells, playing with candy rings, and volleying bubbles from a bathtub with a large tennis racquet.
Although initially set to compete in Wuhan this week, Zheng has withdrawn due to a right shoulder injury sustained during the championship match in Beijing. She is still scheduled to participate in the WTA 250 Kinoshita Group Japan Open in Osaka, starting on October 19.
