The US Men's National Team (USMNT) secured a 3-0 victory over Mexico in a friendly match on Sunday night, capitalizing on errors from the Mexican side. Mexico's goalkeeper Raul Rangel made critical mistakes that contributed to two of the US goals, while Julian Hall and Cavan Sullivan showcased promising performances for the future of the team.

The match almost began in disaster for the US just five minutes in, when Antonee Robinson's half-clearance nearly led to a Mexican goal. Luis Romo played a ball to Santiago Gimenez, but despite Robinson's intervention, the chance went begging as Gimenez failed to convert from close range. Mexico's early pressure continued, with Luis Romo firing over the bar in the 12th minute after good work by Santiago Sandoval.

However, it was the US that broke the deadlock in the 28th minute. A pass from Malik Tillman found Gio Reyna, whose shot was poorly handled by Rangel, allowing Hall to slot the rebound into an open net. The remainder of the first half saw little action, as both sides struggled to create further scoring opportunities.

After halftime, Cavan Sullivan began to cause problems for the Mexican defense. Mexico responded with a series of dangerous free-kicks, with a near miss from Alvarado in the 59th minute, whose volley was tipped over the bar by US goalkeeper Diego Kochen.

The match turned decisively in favor of the US after another misjudgment by Rangel, who passed directly to Sullivan. From 35 yards out, Sullivan scored, becoming the youngest goalscorer in USMNT history. The situation worsened for Mexico when Mateo Chavez received a red card in the 67th minute for violent conduct after a confrontation with Yunus Musah.

Even with a numerical advantage, the US continued to press and added a third goal in the 85th minute. After a defensive error from Alvaro Fidalgo, Tillman intercepted the ball and finished clinically.

Although the US made their fair share of noise, Mexico's mistakes were crucial in the outcome of the match. This result marks the third consecutive win for the USMNT in this international break, with one more fixture against Canada scheduled for Tuesday.
