Four-star shooting guard Malik Olajuwon, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Hakeem Olajuwon, has announced his commitment to SMU for the 2027 recruiting class. He is a 6-foot-4 senior currently attending IMG Academy in Florida. Malik chose SMU over offers from Minnesota, Virginia Tech, TCU, Texas Tech, and Kansas State. His commitment adds a significant in-state player to the Mustangs' roster, which is led by head coach Andy Enfield.
