Carter's athleticism is notable, reflected in his standout performance at the NBA Draft Combine. Measuring 6 feet 2 inches tall, he boasted an impressive wingspan of 6 feet 8.75 inches. His 42-inch vertical leap tied for the highest at the combine, alongside Trentyn Flowers, Keshad Johnson, and Reed Sheppard. Additionally, he recorded a top standing vertical of 35 inches.
Carter's Combine performance also included the third-fastest lane agility time. He set a record for the fastest three-quarter-court sprint at the combine with a time of 2.87 seconds, a record he still holds.
Following the combine, SB Nation’s Ricky O'Donnell noted that Carter had been projected as the No. 15 pick to the Miami Heat in their post-lottery mock draft, suggesting he may have improved his draft position.
