Amanda Anisimova: Career Highlights and Background

She began playing tennis at the age of three after attending her sister's practices and quickly developed a love for the game. Growing up, her tennis idols included Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. Off the court, Anisimova enjoys music, running, writing, jet skiing, and spending time at the beach. She has a pet dog named Miley.

Anisimova plays right-handed and stands 5' 11" (1.80m) tall.

Throughout her career, she has notched several significant achievements. In singles, she has won four titles, including her first WTA 1000 titles in 2025 at Doha and Beijing. In the same year, she reached her first two Grand Slam finals, finishing as the runner-up at both Wimbledon and the US Open, ultimately achieving a career-high ranking of No. 4.

In 2024, she made her debut in a WTA 1000 final in Toronto, where she was the runner-up to Jessica Pegula, overcoming the world No. 3, Aryna Sabalenka, en route. Anisimova had previously claimed her second title at the Melbourne Summer Set 2 in January 2022 and made a semifinal appearance at the Charleston Open, losing to Ons Jabeur.

Anisimova made her top 100 debut on September 17, 2018, ranking No. 95 after reaching the final at Hiroshima as a qualifier. Significant milestones also include defeating No. 9 Petra Kvitova to become one of the youngest players to reach the round of 16 at Indian Wells.
