The first FIBA Masters Open attracted nearly 1,000 players over 40 from around the world, along with coaches, officials, volunteers, and fans, all celebrating basketball's unifying spirit in an inclusive festival environment. The upcoming event in Munich aims to replicate this atmosphere while introducing a wheelchair basketball competition, highlighting FIBA's commitment to inclusivity and community.

Patrick Mariller, FIBA Chief Operating Officer, expressed excitement about hosting the tournament in Munich, emphasizing the strong interest from the masters community and national federations. He acknowledged the collective efforts of local partners, believing the event will provide an outstanding experience for participants.

The competition will commence with an opening ceremony at Munich's BMW Park, and games will occur at various sports halls around the city. Pineapple Park, known for streetball, will host 3x3 competitions.
