WTA Stars Gather for Player Party Ahead of China Open in Beijing

Coco Gauff, who claimed victory at this event in 2024, boasts an impressive career record of 14-2 in Beijing.

Elina Svitolina is set to participate in her eighth China Open, returning to the tournament for the first time since 2019.

Iva Jovic and Eva Lys attended the event as well. Last year, Lys defeated Jovic and Elena Rybakina on her way to the quarterfinals in Beijing and is scheduled to face 16-year-old Sun Xinran in the first round. Jovic, ranked 10th, has a bye into the second round.

Mirra Andreeva will make her fourth appearance in Beijing, having lost in the Round of 16 to Sonay Kartal last year.

Naomi Osaka, seeded 12th, previously won this tournament in 2019, coming back from a set down to defeat Ashleigh Barty in the final.

Donna Vekic, who has not advanced past the Round of 16 in her seven appearances, is seeded 30th and will face either Alycia Parks or Zhu Lin in the second round.

Katerina Siniakova, a top seed in the doubles draw alongside Zhang Shuai, is set to play Magda Linette in her first-round singles match.

Sara Bejlek, making her debut at the China Open, is seeded 20th and will compete against either Zeynep Sonmez or Maddison Inglis in the second round.

Alina Korneeva was forced to withdraw from the event due to a thigh injury that prevented her from making her China Open debut.

Ann Li, who made her debut last year with a first-round loss to Camila Osorio, is seeded 21st and will encounter either Ashlyn Krueger or Sofia Kenin in the second round.

Maria Sakkari's best showing in Beijing came when she reached the quarterfinals in 2023. She is set to play either Storm Hunter or Lin Yu Jun in the second round.

Belinda Bencic, who has participated in Beijing six times since 2014, has not progressed past the Round of 16. Seeded ninth, she will compete against either Anastasia Zakharova or Shao Yushan in her next match.

Diana Shnaider will take part in her third career tournament in Beijing, with a match against either Janice Tjen or Anhelina Kalinina in the second round.

Liudmila Samsonova made a strong debut in the tournament last year, reaching the final but losing to Iga Swiatek after defeating multiple top players. This year, seeded 29th, she will face either Bai Zhuoxuan or Linda Fruhvirtova in the second round.

Clara Tauson, who lost in the first round of the China Open last year, is seeded 32nd and will play either Mayar Sherif or Polina Kudermetova in the second round.
