Jacob Shaffelburg was the standout player, scoring both goals in the first half to seal the win for head coach Jesse Marsch's team.

Shaffelburg opened the scoring in the 19th minute, finishing at the back post after Daniel Jebbison flicked a cross from Liam Millar across the goal.

Canada extended their lead in the 35th minute. Millar delivered another cross toward the back post that was initially deflected by Peru goalkeeper Diego Romero. However, the ball remained in play for Shaffelburg, who headed it in from close range to net his second goal.

This victory follows Canada’s previous 1-0 win against Chile in Toronto, marking consecutive wins and clean sheets as they begin their campaign for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

Looking ahead, Canada will face the United States on Tuesday in their final match of this three-game window.
