Throughout the match, Boston College created multiple scoring chances, taking 15 shots, with six hitting the target. Sophie Reale was the standout player, contributing four shots, two of which were on goal. Emily Mara also made an impact with three shots, two on target, while Nicollette Kiorpes added two shots, one on goal.
The Eagles earned five corner kicks during the match, three of which came in the second half, while Notre Dame recorded four corners.
The Fighting Irish opened the scoring in the seventh minute and added two more goals before halftime, leading 3-0 at the break. They extended their advantage further with a fourth goal in the 76th minute.
Goalkeeper Olivia Shippee played the full 90 minutes and recorded a season-high eight saves.
Despite the loss, Boston College concludes its first nine matches of the season with a strong 8-1-0 record and remains 1-1-0 in ACC play. The Eagles will return to action at home against California on Thursday, September 24, at 6 p.m. at Newton Campus Soccer Field.
