Coastal Carolina Women’s Soccer to Face Queens on September 17

The Chanticleers currently hold a record of 5-2-1 for the season. Head coach Pete Cuadrado is approaching a milestone, needing just one win to reach 200 career victories, with an overall record of 199-169-58. In their last outing, Coastal achieved a 0-0 draw against UNCW, marking their fifth shutout of the year. The team remains unbeaten at home, boasting a perfect 4-0-0 record at the CCU Soccer Complex.

Goalkeeper Aris Lamanna is notable for ranking third nationally with five clean sheets and leads the Sun Belt Conference with an .884 save percentage. On Tuesday, she received her first Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week honor. Coastal Carolina is also strong when scoring first, as they are 5-0-0 in such games. Olivia Goretski has contributed significantly, ranking 33rd in the NCAA with two match-winning goals.

On the other hand, Queens has struggled this season with a record of 1-5-1. Their last match ended in a 3-1 loss to USC Upstate. The Royals' sole victory was a 3-1 win against South Carolina State. They have been shut out in four of their seven matches. McKayla leads the team with three goals, scoring twice against South Carolina State and once against The Citadel. Grace Acevedo is the top assist provider with two.

Queens has utilized two goalkeepers this season. Ava Kreusling has a 2.56 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage, while Emily Protiva has made 22 saves and holds a 2.58 goals-against average. The Royals average 8.1 shots per match with a .509 shots-on-goal percentage.

This match marks the first meeting between Queens and Coastal Carolina in program history.
