Frederic Dusart appointed head coach for Türkiye women's basketball

ISTANBUL (Türkiye) - Frederic Dusart, the recently appointed coach of Galatasaray Cagdas Faktoring, has taken on an additional responsibility as the head coach for Türkiye's women's basketball team, aiming to secure a spot in the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2027.

Dusart succeeds Andrea Mazzon, who held the position for less than a year and was previously the head coach at Umana Reyer Venezia. With recent experience as an assistant coach for Belgium at the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026, Dusart will lead Türkiye into the Second Round of the EuroBasket 2027 Qualifiers.

Türkiye has drawn Israel, Montenegro, and Poland in Group I, with matches scheduled for the upcoming November window and the final window in February 2027. Dusart brings a wealth of experience, having previously won the EuroCup Women and domestic titles in France with Villeneuve d'Ascq LM, as well as success with Castors Braine in Belgium and a coaching tenure in China's WCBA.
