
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Marshall Women's Soccer (6-2-4, 2-0-2 SBC) secured a 2-2 draw against Georgia Southern (7-2-3, 2-1-1 SBC) on Sunday, keeping their home unbeaten streak intact this season.

The Herd initially took the lead in the 33rd minute with a goal from Luana Gusmao. However, Georgia Southern equalized in the 82nd minute from a corner kick and then briefly took the lead in the 87th minute. Larissa Ozorio responded with a late equalizer with under 90 seconds to play, ensuring the draw.
With this result, Marshall remains in the Top 4 of the SBC standings and continues their 11-match unbeaten run at home. Coach Rafa Simoes expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly highlighting their resilience. "We don’t like giving up on set pieces, but I am really proud of Larissa for tying the game and for the team’s effort to remain undefeated at home in SBC matches since 2024," Simoes said.
Both teams finished the match with 14 shots each, and junior goalkeeper Emma Durand made three saves.
Marshall will next face Old Dominion on Thursday, October 8 at 7 p.m.
