According to a source who spoke to Knox News on September 20, Lundblade's recovery has been carefully monitored. The source requested to remain anonymous as no official announcement has been made. Lundblade also faced limitations during summer workouts while he worked through his recovery but has shown positive progress.
"As for Tyler, he’s just putting one foot in front of the other, step-by-step trying to improve and just working towards getting healthy," said assistant coach Amorrow Morgan on August 27. Coach Rick Barnes noted on July 23 that the team was taking a cautious approach with Lundblade's injury.
Tennessee is set to begin practices for the 2026-27 season on September 22, with their first exhibition game scheduled against Xavier on October 15. Last season, Lundblade was recognized as the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, averaging 15.6 points per game and shooting 40.6% from 3-point range. Over his career, he boasts a 43.5% shooting percentage from beyond the arc on 6.3 attempts per game.
