This game follows IU's significant 96-68 victory against Butler, where they showcased their scoring depth with all 14 players contributing points. Notably, Markus Burton, Darren Harris, and Samet Yigitoglu each scored 13 points, and Aiden Sherrell added 10 points along with nine rebounds.

North Carolina, now headed by first-year coach Michael Malone, who has a notable 24-year tenure in the NBA including a 2023 Championship with the Denver Nuggets, presents a formidable challenge. The Tar Heels have key players like senior forward Jarin Stevenson, who averaged 8.1 points and 4.4 rebounds in 2025-26, and senior guard Jaydon Young, who played in 31 games last season.

Historically, Indiana leads the series against North Carolina 10-6, with their last encounter resulting in a 77-65 win for IU on November 30, 2022, in Bloomington.

The game will be broadcast on B1G+ and the IU Radio Network, with alternative commentary from former IU players Alan Henderson and Brian Evans available on BTN Plus.

Following this exhibition, IU will also face non-conference opponents Syracuse on November 9 and Kentucky on November 20, both in Indianapolis, as well as host the 2027 Big Ten Tournament at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
