The Terriers, currently leading the league, are looking to extend their four-game winning streak. They concluded a two-game home stand on Monday with a decisive 5-0 victory over Bucknell, keeping their PL record perfect. Junior forward Dylan Williams opened the scoring for BU, assisted by freshman defender Guillem Vila Ametller. Senior forward Andrea Di Blasio converted a penalty kick to follow, and senior forward Lapo Romieri added another goal, assisted by junior midfielder Pharis Petrica, bringing the score to 3-0 at halftime. An own goal by Bucknell increased BU's lead, and sophomore midfielder Sebastian Otero rounded out the scoring with a second goal.
This match against Bucknell marked BU's first 5-0 win since October 21, 2006, against Maine, and the first 5-0 victory at Nickerson Field since September 13, 1998, against Rhode Island.
Loyola Maryland secured its first PL win last Saturday, defeating Holy Cross 4-2 in Worcester, Mass. Players Edwin Espinal-Elvir, Lukas Cortes, Tyler Flinn, and Ben Schouten each scored in that match. Both Cortes and Espinal-Elvir received weekly awards for their performances. The Greyhounds began their conference play with a 2-0 loss to Lehigh and a 1-1 draw against American at home, with Tyler Flynn scoring Loyola's first goal against a PL opponent this season. The Greyhounds have a 1-4 record at home this season.
In the all-time series, the Terriers hold a record of 6-5-4 against the Greyhounds, including a 1-2-3 record in matches played in Baltimore. In their last encounter, BU won 4-1, marking its largest victory margin against Loyola.
